| Buffy II Precious Princess Buffy was one of our special Cocker Friends. She unexpectedly died from heart problems at the very early age of six. Her parents miss her terribly. | Miles Martin Another special Cocker Friend, Miles was a rescue cocker, brought all the way from PA to Oregon. Miles & his new mom got to fly in the jump seat of the plane they chartered. His parents always joked that he was the dog that "colored outside of the lines". SO happy all the time & was transformed from a very pathetic soul, to a happy out loud puppy. He was a senior cocker, approximatly 12 years old when he went over to the bridge. He's missed deeply. Several of his friends also donated in his memory. His fund is also being used to help out another needy cocker. Rest in Peace Miles 2001 |

Lucy Lucy was a very special little girl. Although she wasn't a rescue cocker, she had touched many lives in her 16 years with us. She always had a way of turning a bad day good, and making a good day better. Full of life and happiness.. It's what a cocker is all about! Even when old age and kidney disease took their toll on her, she was such a brave little trooper until the very end. God finally called her to be with Him on January 12, 1999. We love you Lucy. You live on in many hearts, and we will see you again someday. They say, the first dog is often the reason for the second dog. In Lucy's honor, Mike has Lacey now & has adopted 2 rescue cockers. He is also involved in fostering cocker spaniels. Rest in Peace Lucy 4/8/83 - 1/12/99

Jello Jello was a cocker spaniel that was rescued by Barb & Jim. He was found in a trash can. Jello would go out with the family and enjoy boat rides and was loved deeply by his new family. A rattlesnake bit Jello in the leg on Friday. The family rushed him to the vet & had the antidote flown in -- but it wasn't enough. Jello was a little fellow, only weighing 14 pounds. He is now resting in the arms of angels and his sister Briann. Our hearts are breaking for the family. Cockerfriends have donated in his memory, so that another baby can be saved. Love, Eileen, Janne, Jan, Mary, Barb, Anita, Donna. Rest in Peace Jello 4/13/02
Tag-a-longWe brought Tag in as a cruelty case. He tried hard to trust, but something horrible must have happened to him in his first home. He was ok one minute, and then unpredictable the next. He progressively got worse. Unfortunately, we had to end his emotional pain. It is such a horrible feeling to try for months to get a little guy like him over the pain, but he wasn't able to be adopted out. We had to clean up someone else's mistakes. It breaks my heart and makes me angry. Tag didn't deserve to be abused. He is out of his agony now and romping at the Bridge. A donation was made in his memory by "The Boyers". Rest in Peace Taggy, we loved you 4/24/02
MADDIE Maddie was rescued by a CIN supporter from a home where she wasn't wanted and was bound for the shelter. She blossomed from a shy, scared, dog that had been yelled at, into a happy people loving typical cocker. She loved to go places with her family and riding in the boat. She unfortunately was killed in an accident and went to the bridge recently. Maddie you are gone but you will never be forgotten and you will be loved forever. Rest In Peace Maddie April - 2002

PENNEY Beautiful Shinny Penney started to have liver problems. Her parents did everything they could to help her thru this illness. When Penney started to fail, her parents had to do that last thing to help her. Her mom said that she was talking to her with her eyes the last day. She knew, and they held her and loved her and miss her terribly. In her memory, a donation has been made in her name, to help another little cocker in need. Rest In Peace Penney October 14 2002
BUDDY & LACY Beth adopted Buddy & Lacy in 2000. Both were rescues, and as you can see, they loved each other. In this picture, they were all tuckered out from playing at the beach and just had a bath. Sadly, Buddy passed away in early December of 2002. Lacy mourned her Bud, and she too passed away in late December 2002, just after Christmas. Beth gave them a wonderful 2 years of love and happiness, and misses them terribly. In their honor, a donation was made to us, and will be used to save more Buddys and Lacys. Rest In Peace Buddy & Lacy December 2002

In Memory of dear sweet Chyna Chyna's Rescue Link Chyna was adopted 1 1/2 years ago, by a loving family. Yesterday, she passed over the rainbow bridge. The first part of her life wasn't the greatest, but I can assure you her last year and a half was happy and loving. Chyna had no eyes, was loosing her hearing and never once complained. She just kept on going and showed many just how important it was to have a good attitude. She always gave the sweetest kisses. Our sincere condolences to the Waldman Family, Chyna will be missed by many.

In Memory of Sandy 9/23/04 Sandy was an abuse case. When we bring in an abused dog, we never know how things will turn out. For a while, Sandy was doing well. We fattened him up, got him neutered, treated him for Lyme disease and he was sleeping in a nice comfy bed at night. In the course of a week, he had gone after a person several different times. We thought perhaps this person might remind him of something bad in his previous home. However, one week later, he had gone after two other people, at different times. No rhyme or reason. This is when we have to ask ourselves an important question. Would we feel comfortable adopting Sandy out. The answer was no. He had become unpredictable. We had to do the humane thing. Sandy will always be in our hearts and minds, and it's times like this that make me very mad and upset at his previous owners. Owners that beat him and treated him like garbage. It's just not fair.
