| Missouri Puppy Mill Dogs December 21, 2005 We brought in 3 male cockers from a puppy mill close down. The two brothers have a really bad case of sarcoptic mange. The brown & white parti boy doesn't seem to have it. The brothers are missing most of the fur on their ears, legs and their bellys are raw. They have scabs on their paws and back. It's extremely itchy and smelly. They've been started on Ivomec for treatment of mange. They are also very skinny and look like they have giant heads right now. The skin is black from scratching and from a secondary infection. Once their coat grows in, it will be a beautiful color with black tips on their ears and in some of their back fur. The brown & white boy is a decent weight and seems to be ok so far. They just arrived after a very long trip. They will have their first Christmas in a home. We'll give them a nice soothing bath to help the irritation from the mites and remove all the dirt and stench from their frail little bodys. We can't neuter them until they're a little bit stronger and healthier. |

| Marbles ~ Shy, quite brown & white parti boy. Really nice coloring, his feet have brown freckles. He wiggles when you talk to him and comes over to touch my finger when I stick it in his crate. He's approximately 2-3 years old. We're not sure he likes other male dogs. After his neuter, that might change. |

| Smokeys first bath. Boy oh boy is he skinny. He was a good boy for his tubby. He got another Neem Oil dip (no harsh chemicals) and we put a little t-shirt on him. He's so skinny, the size medium is falling off of him. |
| That's his left front leg. Both of them are like this. Hopefully we'll be seeing teeny little hairs growing back soon. |

| Bandit gets his bath. Look at his ear flappers. They are bald nekid, and have scabs all over. His head also had bare patches. Nice soothing bath and then some Neem Oil dip to help his skin. |

| After bath, this is my pathetic face. They even put a sweater on me. Foster mom calls me a punk rocker. Baths are no fun but the cookie afterwards was GOOD. |

| Marbles pre-wash water. He must have lived in a barn. His first rinse was yellow pee pee water. The white parts of his fur are stained in yellow, but after using Polar White Shampoo it's a little bit better. He sure smells better now. He also got a Neem Oil dip after his bath. He is itching a bit. It could be anything, even the pee that's been on him for years or whatever. But, to be on the safe side, I am treating him for mange. |

| For Christmas they all got a new toy, and a big bowl of Merricks Smothered Comfort. Oh, and a bath. |
| When we get in pups that look like this, we boost immunities. We use fresh foods, lots of homecooking, and these supplements: CAS OPTIONS ~ Extra strength Olive Leaf Extract Sambucol (Black Elderberry Extract) and other vitamins to help heal their skin. These guys need all the help they can get. |

| New Years Day Update Smokey's growing some fur. That nekid leg is now covered in white fur with little brown freckles. YAY |
