Cockers in Need
Mission Statement
Many of the cockers in our rescue came from homes that weren't prepared to handle a puppy.  They were not socialized properly and the owners had no idea how to train a dog when both people in the home work.  Some of them we spring from kill shelters.

We use crate training and positive re-inforcement.  It takes time yes, but the rewards are unbelievable once that dog is taught what is expected of them.

Patience and a REGULAR schedule are two very important parts of training.  We encourage all of our new moms and dads to continue with the same type of training we used.

We also believe in a natural diet.  This means no grocery store food.  Preferably a food that doesn't have wheat, corn, yeast, soy, BHA, BHT and chemical preservatives.   Our fosters are usually fed Nutro Natural kibble (or Merrick dry & canned) plus a home cooked version of
SPOT'S STEW.

We have had  miraculous results with a home remedy called
BLUE POWER. This solution has prevented many cockers from having ear surgery.  We feed only a natural diet, making the ears less irritated, and the blue power solution helps with any infections that caused the dog to suffer.

Our ultimate goal is to provide the cocker with a perfect home.  To do this, we need to ask many questions in order to make sure it's a PERFECT MATCH.  Please understand that when we ask you to fill out our adoption questionaire.

Our group never knowingly brings in a cocker that has had a reputation of nipping.   And for this reason, we ask that people undertand our policy of adopting to family's with children over the age of 10.

To date, all of our cockers have been adopted into loving new homes and have not been returned.  THAT is our ultimate goal,
forever homes.
We are a small group of concerned individuals, trying to help out a few cockers in need. Our goal is to rehabilitate the ones that can be, and find them the perfect home through careful screening and checking references.

We require a home visit, a vet reference, as well as an adoption fee. The fee is used to offset the vet bills that we incur getting our cockers up to date on shots, neutered/spayed, heartworm tested and on preventitive.

Our mission may be challenging, but our goal is simple:

To rescue, rehab, and place our Cockers in the best homes possible. Where there was once abuse and neglect, there is now love and inclusion. Where there was once starvation, there is now good wholesome food. Where there was once exposure to the elements, there is now a warm bed and a loving family. They are our best friends, and they deserve only the best of care.

Please...  Let's treat them as such.
We have potential adopters fill out an application and return it. We review the info and check veterinary references. If everything checks out, then we make an appointment for the adopter to visit the dog.  Potential adopters must be willing to drive here and meet the animal they are interested in adopting. If you currently have a dog, we would also like to make sure that they get along, and suggest bringing him/her along.

Standard adoption donations are: (donation HELPS to cover our costs)
Adults between 1 and 8 years of age: $200.00
Puppies less than one year of age: $250.00
